01 / My story

Where I come from shapes how I show up.

The person
behind the
projects.

Conyers, GAChattanooga, TN

Starting over.
Finding a calling.
Learning to lead.

I had to step into the role of a professional while I was still learning to believe in my abilities.

I was raised in Conyers, Georgia. My path took me through group homes and foster homes, then into waiting tables after high school. Moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee, gave me a chance to reinvent myself and discover a role in insurance.

Through that journey, I came to understand what I felt God was calling me to do: serve others.

That’s the heart behind my work. Asking better questions. Helping people understand their choices. Giving myself grace to grow while learning to show up for someone else.

For the guy or gal who isn’t confident in their abilities yet: give yourself grace to grow into the role.

I wrote this for the guy or gal who is still finding their confidence. A practical guide for insurance agents learning to ask better questions, make clear recommendations, and help clients understand their choices.

Thirty chapters, a next-appointment field guide, practice cases, question exercises, and a thirty-day practice plan give you ways to put it to work.

More about the book

The book follows the work before, during, and after an appointment: preparing with purpose, listening closely, discussing affordability, understanding objections, and following through on commitments.

A personal client story and fictional practice conversations bring these principles into focus, with dedicated chapters on Medicare, life insurance, and retirement conversations.

The client owns the decision.
The agent owns the recommendation.

A reminder for the road

grace to grow.
